We are looking for a Plant Manager to oversee the Operations of our Burlington manufacturing plant. This includes managing day-to-day operations, maintaining plant equipment, and developing strategies to create optimal plant performance. The Plant Manager is also responsible for ensuring our operations meet the standards of Hunter’s quality system in accordance with customer and company requirements and maintain our competitive advantage by maximizing manufacturing efficiencies and effectiveness.

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for the direct supervision of supervisors, team leaders, and the activities of production teams; including all manufacturing processes and procedures as well as the maintenance of equipment, buildings, and property.
  • Encourage a culture of quality, foster a learning culture that encourages employees to continuously improve processes, productivity, and throughput.
  • Maintains a regular presence on the production floor and works to maintain high levels of communication with supervisors and production team members.
  • Maintains a high level of communication with the sales and engineering teams, giving regular updates on capacity levels and/or constraints.
  • Monitors and adjusts plant capacities as required to provide best possible service levels.
  • Guide and assist team in solving production problems and ensure high standards are adhered to for GMP, safety, and preventative maintenance.
  • Maintains equipment and facilities by developing, auditing, and evaluating maintenance systems, policies, procedures, and controls.
  • Develop and maintain a work environment that ensures positive employee relations, flexibility, and quick response to issues.
  • Working with our CI Team, develop and drive continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Achieves financial objectives by establishing KPI’s; developing budgets; controlling costs; maximizing use of assets.
  • Complies with legal requirements by enforcing company policies and procedures, and regulatory requirements.

Preferred Experience

  • 5-10 years’ experience in a high-performance manufacturing environment (packaging preferred).
  • Proven experience in a high-performance manufacturing environment utilizing lean/Six Sigma tools.
  • Experience as an engaging and collaborative leader.
  • Excellent communication and written skills.
  • Problem solving skills to assist in sorting through complex issues.
  • Thinks globally, takes a broad view of the business and its opportunities. Develops long-term strategies for growth.
  • Demonstrated experience with process reengineering techniques/tools such as process flowcharts, cause-and-effect diagrams, and control charts.
