Plant Fitter (Mobile & Fixed)

Our state-of-the-art facilities in Horwich are expanding and our new £4.2 million waste processing plant will be opening in January 2023. As a result, we are looking to grow our team of dedicated staff and we now have an exciting new opportunity for an experienced Plant Fitter to join our small, but highly skilled and dedicated team.
£32k to £45k per annum DOE
42.5 hours per week
Mon-Fri, 8.5 hours per day between 7am-6pm on a rota system
plus alternate Saturdays 7am-12pm (paid in addition to basic salary)
The Role
The post holder will be responsible for undertaking daily preventative maintenance tasks and responding to breakdowns. We have several mobile pieces of plant, ranging from shredders and shakers to material handlers and loading shovels, that require regular maintenance and repairs. You will also carry out inspections and testing of mobile and fixed plant, investigate and diagnose faults and report findings as required. As part of the preventative measures, we would also expect you to advise and educate our machine operators on basic maintenance and how to optimise the machines.
What you need:
We are seeking a candidate who has experience working in a similar role within a workshop or fleet environment. It is vital that the successful candidate is proficient in diagnosing and repairing hydraulic, mechanical, and electrical systems. Experience working within the recycling, waste, or comparable plant industries would be advantageous, but is not essential. You will have excellent verbal communication skills and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, high-volume environment. Reliability, punctuality, and good levels of attendance are a must.
