Position:

Reporting to the RLC UK Site Operational General Manager and Director of Planning & Supply Chain responsible for the planning, implementation and monitoring our overall supply chain strategy to maximise efficiency and productivity to deliver the RLC Company strategy.

Leading a dedicated team providing end-to-end closed-loop planning & supply chain activities including Goods-in, Store Management & Logistics. Responsible for the delivery of RLC Planning and Supply Chain strategies and policies whilst driving and implementing best practices and continuous improvement.

The role will require regular travel to other RLC sites and suppliers.


  • Accountable for the on time implementation of planning and supply chain strategies and policies, promoting continuous improvement in planning & supply chain management processes, and resolving supply chain issues both internally and externally.
  • Ownership of the site end-to-end supply chain management from sourcing, procurement, logistics, stores, stock management (including consignment stock), return-to-vendor to supplier performance.
  • The development, implementation and sustaining a production planning system to ensure on time in full delivery to our customers.
  • Management of the current and long-term forecast projections to drive production and inventory planning goals to minimise production risk while maximizing inventory turns.
  • Management and development of supplier relationships and partnerships to ensure efficient use of resources; establishing and maintaining optimal production & supply schedules to deliver customer demand on time in full at the most cost effective and efficient way, including optimised inventory performance.
  • As part of site management team, drive Sales, Inventory & Operations Planning (SIOP) and end-to-end closed loop collaborative planning, forecasting and replenishment to meet RLC business objectives.
  • Ensuring site procurement costs are controlled and opportunities for savings are identified & implemented whilst leading site supply chain cost reduction initiatives. Support annual budgeting process, financial planning
  • Provide commercial expertise, analysing complex data to ensure decisions are commercially sound.
  • Assist in the budget, financial planning and business case processes through the provision of forecasts, planning, SIOP scenario analysis, RFQs & supply chain data.
  • Identify and drive continuous improvement opportunities to streamline process and improve accuracy and efficiency within operations through adoption of Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) as they apply to Supply Chain success, as well as providing input to KPIs as they apply to Manufacturing success. Supplier management and supplier KPIs, including OTIF delivery, cost, quality and compliance.
  • Responsible to ensure departmental process maps, standard operation procedures and work instruction are established, kept up to date and registered in QMS.
  • Ensure the department comply with RLC policies and requirements, government rules & regulations and industrial standards, and customer requirements, especially on Planning & Supply Chain.
  • Contribute to the wider effectiveness of the senior management team through active participation in group meetings and projects.


Requirements:


Qualifications

Degree qualified or relevant professional certification or substantial relevant experience.

Minimum 10 years’ experience with a proven track record in end-to-end collaborative planning forecasting and replenishment, and supply chain management in a manufacturing environment


Experience

Must have a proven track record and experience in SIOP, production & supply chain planning & scheduling in a manufacturing environment where customer demand changes regularly.

Must have strong working knowledge and hands on experience of how to use ERP & MRP systems. Super-user.

Must have a proven track record and experience of successfully driving improvement in planning and supply chain management.

Must have significant supply chain and supplier management experience.

Evidence of excellent management and leadership skills, proven ability to develop and motivate people and teams.

Circumstances

Available & willing to work additional hours when required to ensure deadlines are met.

Occasional travel, both UK and overseas, may be required.

Driving license required.


Knowledge & Skills

Very good understanding & knowledge on planning and supply chain management, and able to implement governance & control. Have strong knowledge of MRP.

Strong knowledge of end-to-end supply chain processes and management within manufacturing environment.

Understanding of business operations & manufacturing processes. Strong process improvement skill.

Excellent negotiation skills. Good understanding of legal aspects related to procurement contracts.

Excellent verbal & written communication, presentation and interpersonal skills.

Excellent numerical reasoning and analytical skills. Financially astute.

Strong working knowledge of Microsoft suite, advanced Excel skills.


Desirable Knowledge and Skills

Strong background in manufacturing planning & supply chain management.

Either from an automotive or aerospace manufacturing environment.

Understanding of manufacturing processes, quality issues, production capacity constraint and supply chain challenges.

Awareness of Aerospace standards & regulations

Excellent knowledge & ability to apply Lean Manufacturing practices.

Project management skill.
