Job description
The Operational Planning Lead will oversee the Co-Ordinator’s covering the Assembly or Manufacturing Sites. They will support the management of daily production to ensure Operational Plan adherence. They will have responsibility to ensure their teams performance and training to achieve the desired level of quality performance. They will develop the Operational Plan for the Co-Ordinator & Operation Leads/Manufacturing Managers to enable overall MPS adherence. They will oversee Work Order Management to ensure full MRP Health.
Responsibilities
- Coordinate with Manager in resolving operational control issues.
- Plan the Operational Areas to deliver OTIF.
- Optimise Operations Performance through Planning & Scheduling.
- Support Operations with WIP management.
- Communicate operational updates to Managers on a regular basis.
- Liaising with internal departments on all operational related matters.
- Devising and implementing strategies to improve processes and efficiencies.
- Updating Departmental KPI’s as per required schedule.
- Ensure best practice is adhered to in all aspects of daily work.
- Develop staff by training, mentoring and personal development plans.
- Ensuring health and safety requirements are always met.

Requirements
Essential
- Minimum of 2 years’ supervisory experience in Operational Control, preferably within a manufacturing environment
- Extensive knowledge of processes and procedures
- MRP experience and good level of MS Excel knowledge
- Previous experience in improving efficiencies
- Educated to GCSE Level, Grades A*-C, or equivalent (including Maths & English)
- Highly organised
- Strong problem-solving skills
- Excellent communicator
- Strong statistical knowledge
