The Vacancy

We are offering two placement students who are currently undertaking the Law degree the opportunity to work within the firm’s Real Estate Disputes team. The role will give the candidate an opportunity to obtain first-hand insight into what is it like to work within leading UK law firm in the South.

Job purpose

The candidate will provide support to the fee earners of the team.

The key responsibilities will include but will not be limited to those outlined below.

Key responsibilities/expectations

  • Prepare and assist with engagement letters
  • Assist with file opening and billing.
  • Act as initial filter re enquiries.
  • Assist with printing, creating documents and sending letters and other administrative tasks
  • Provides an efficient and effective service to clients, updating them and keeping them informed.
  • To communicate at all times in a clear, polite and calm manner to clients, work colleagues and others.
  • Assist and support more senior members of the team with work or tasks as required.
  • To ensure that standards of quality and the reputation of the firm are maintained at all times.
  • To support the effectiveness of the team by being positive and co-operative with all team members.
  • To demonstrate commitment to the role, Department and Moore Barlow through excellent punctuality, timekeeping and attendance.
  • To demonstrate ability to time manage and prioritise workload to meet deadlines.
  • To take initiative for self development and accept changes and new challenges required to meet individual and Departmental objectives.
  • To ensure the confidentiality of all Moore Barlow’s information and clients’ documentation.
  • To adhere to the HR policies and procedures.
  • Hardworking and willingness to learn

January 2023 – Moore Barlow attending seminar at Bournemouth University to discuss the placement year and the firm and answer any questions

March 2023 – Interviews

March 2023 – placements offered.
