Pizza Chef (Events)
Salary : £34,000 per annum
Hours : 45 hours a week (inc. weekends and late nights)

We are looking for a Pizza Chef (Events) working approximately 45 hours per week over 5 days, including late nights and weekends. Your week would be predominantly live shows & prep days until the start of May, then splitting out between office days, prep days and live Events for festival season.
Working alongside our Lead Pizza Chef, you will initially be based at Printworks (SE16), delivering the final series at of shows running Feb - early May. This is outside in the food court area, in our covered food hut. You'll be preparing, cooking and serving New York style pizza sold by the slice.
You will then move onto the festival & pop-up season late May-September, working in our Trust the Crust pizza van and travelling around the UK over the Summer to our various Event locations!
While you are based at Printworks February - April, the hours on office and prep days will be variable and flexible. Shifts for live show days will be agreed through the rota with our Lead Chef and staggered where possible, however an example week can be seen below for 3 show weeks:
- Wednesday 9am - 5pm
- Thursday 9am - 5pm
- Fridays 6pm - 5am
- Saturdays 11am – 11pm
- Sunday 11am - 11pm
Main Responsibilities include (but are not limited to):
- Opening and closing the unit
- Maintaining accurate food ordering and stocking level including all kitchen materials.
- Preparing and cooking pizza
- Taking orders and payments - directly serving guests
- Managing waste and portion control
- Standardising production recipes to ensure consistent quality
- Maintaining a spotless unit, ensuring daily and weekly cleaning schedules are complete.
- Maintaining flawless Hygiene and Food Safety standards, H&S etc
- Maintenance of equipment, working safely around the kitchen, monitoring and dealing with / reporting issues efficiently
What you’ll need:
- Minimum of 2 years’ experience working with pizzas
- Experience hand-stretching pizza
- Food Safety Level 2 at a minimum
- A good understanding of COSHH and other key H&S legislation
- Knowledge of allergens and matrixes
- Confident preparing and cooking pizza in front of the Guests - personality and enthusiasm are a must!
- Experience ordering required ingredients and managing stock / rotation
- Fluent English (spoken, written and comprehension)
- A willingness to work outside (under cover)
- Experience in a similar pop-up style event or food truck environment would be an advantage
- Able to interact with guests and the wider team in a genuine, upbeat and engaging way
