Stress Engineer
A leading Aerospace Engineering organisation have a fantastic opportunity for an ambitious Stress Engineer to work as part of a team on all phases of the project life cycle including design, demonstration, development, production and customer support. As a Stress Engineer you will be responsible for performing stress and structural analyses to ensure the integrity and performance of the design meets all required standards so a strong mathematical emphasis is required.
You will benefit from working with some of the best Engineers in the UK focussed on truely unique products that continue to be used globally within the Aerospace sector.
As a Stress Engineer your key responsibilities will include -
+ Analysis of new and existing systems which may involve, hardware and propellant charge structure analysis, CFD and thermal analysis.
+ Responsible for hardware and charge analysis including finite element analysis modelling, calculation of safety factors.
+ Analysis of material testing and providing advice to the technical community.
+ Responsible for the structural performance technical authority aspects of assigned projects, including supporting project customer meetings, project investigations, design reviews, and corresponding customer stress engineers.
+ Deliver key project documentation including, structural analysis and structural test plans and reports and structural design records.
+ Contribution to qualifications report
+ Identify risks and issues that may impact delivery, including time, quality and cost, and communicate solutions with the Design Manager.
Skills and knowledge required for a Stress Engineer -
+ Educated to degree level within Mechanical or Aeronautical
+ Min 24 months of commercial experience within Aerospace or Defence sector
+ Proficient in the use of FEA software ideally ANSYS
+ Strong expertise in mathematical modelling and software systems
