Role overview
You will oversee all picture usage across WGSN’s global content output, this includes managing rights, costs and processes to enable WGSN to achieve its editorial and commercial goals.
The team
You will be joining a diverse, global team of 10 who serve a wider community of 120+ content creators. We pride ourselves in our inclusive culture and take a collaborative approach in working towards one goal – to continue to be the most inspiring, leading trend forecaster in the world.
Key accountabilities
Oversee all images used in WGSN reports.
Develop clear ways of working for all picture usage - in reports, The Feed, fashion specifically, the image library etc.
Build a wide range of sources for images to meet WGSN’s global editorial needs.
Take a leading role in developing WGSN’s use of new AI image solutions.
Establish clear processes for securing usage rights for images from picture agencies and individual creators
Hire photographers and negotiate fees as needed
Manage the picture assistant and ensure the smooth running of the picture desk, including handling picture desk admin - processing invoices, picture credits etc

Skills, experience & qualifications required
Highly organised and numerate
Able to build effective working practices across a matrix organisation
Well-versed in image rights on a global basis
Interested in and able to discuss photography and image production in a sophisticated and credible manner with industry professionals
Up to speed with photography, illustration and AI image creation technologies and working practices
Experience of working on a picture desk, with a rounded knowledge of picture libraries and resourceful in exploring new platforms for unique imagery
Able to talk and work with creatives and the numerate with ease
Excellent communication and people skills
Able to work to budgets and deadlines with confidence
Mac friendly with a working knowledge of Photoshop, InDesign, Google Workspace
