If you are Band 5 physiotherapist seeking to develop your clinical skills within Mental Health, then we would love to hear from you.
What we do: Charlton Lane Hospital provides inpatient care forolder adult mental health across 3 in-patient wards: Chestnut Ward, is a 14bedded andMulberry Ward, an 18bedded ward for Older age Adults with functional mental illness. Willow Ward, is a 16 bedded ward predominantly for older adults with an organic mental illness such as Dementia.
We want you: if you have a passion for rehabilitation, thrive working within multidisciplinary teams and have innovative ideas to develop and deliver personalised care plans that support people to maintain both their mental and physical health and wellbeing. You will need excellent communication skills and commitment to high quality patient care alongside flexibility and resilience to meet the challenges of working within a mental health setting .
We will give you: A chance to work with older adults presenting with functional mental health diagnoses and dementia, supported by clinical specialists, service leads, Occupational Therapists, Exercise and Health Practitioners and the wider Multidisciplinary team, to help you grow and develop your professional and clinical skills in a variety of areas.
The Physiotherapy Team provides:
- Musculoskeletal assessment and treatment
- Falls risk assessment and management
- Respiratory care
- Support End of Life Care
- Specialist equipment prescription
- Functional rehabilitation and exercise
- Risk assessment
- Health promotion
You will be supported to develop as a physiotherapist through regular Supervision, Appraisal, Preceptorship, Observed Practice, In-service Training, Journal Club and External Training.
