This is an exciting opportunity to join the Oldham Care Organisation, part of the Northern Care Alliance!
We are looking for a Specialty grade doctor with experience in geriatric medicine to provide in-patient liaison cover within the general and colorectal surgical department at The Royal Oldham Hospital, for a fixed term contract of 1 year.
Main duties of the job
- Inpatient assessment and care of older adults admitted acutely under the surgical team, with particular focus on those with frailty, multiple co-morbidities, and acute medical issues
- Communicating with relatives and loved ones
- Support of junior doctors on the surgical wards with acute medical issues
- Cross-cover with liaison geriatricians in the vascular and orthopaedic departments
