The Centre of Clinical Excellence – VFRH, was founded to support the mental and physical health and wellness of Canada’s Veterans & first responders. This brand new, first-of-its kind Centre of Clinical Excellence (CCE) is located within the Legion Veterans Village in Surrey, BC. POSITION SUMMARY:
We are looking for a Primary Care Physician who is quality-focused, values complex care, and wants to be part of a high-functioning, interdisciplinary team of Physicians, Nurses, Psychologists, Occupational Therapists, Physical Therapists, Clinical Counsellors, and Kinesiologists. You will have an opportunity to provide primary care within an interdisciplinary team environment and be involved with programs addressing PTSD, mental health, and associated conditions. This position offers a unique opportunity to utilize a range of clinical skills within an interdisciplinary setting.
As part of our interdisciplinary team of professionals, the Physician collaborates with colleagues and our various practitioners on treatment recommendations based on the Centre of Clinical Excellence – Veterans and First Responders Health continuum of care.

WHAT YOU WILL DO:
- Act as a primary care physician for patients & their families within the Veterans, first responder, & army populations
- Consult with and refer to other health care workers (both within the Centre of Clinical Excellence & external), including specialists, to evaluate patients' physical and mental health
- Working with patients with PTSD, chronic and/or acute pain, substance use issues, and/or mental health conditions
- Utilizing e-charting software to document treatment sessions; submitting reports to stakeholders in a timely manner
- Work closely with the other Centre of Clinical Excellence practitioners to meet identified client needs and achieve excellent patient outcomes
- Be involved in translational research
REQUIRED EXPERIENCE & QUALIFICATIONS:
- Current College of Physicians of BC (CPSBC) License - Full
- Canadian College of Family Practitioners (CCFP) or equivalent - Optional
- Canadian Medical Protective Association (CMPA) - Mandatory
- Experience with the following populations: Veterans, first responders (RCMP, Police, Army, Firefighters, Nurses, Paramedics, Border Security)

Salary: $175,000.00-$350,000.00 per year
