The A Side: A Day in The Life
Sitting within the UMG Global Asset & Archive Team, you will report into the Director, Digital Preservation and be tasked with providing photographic verification and preservation support for Universal Music archives and core businesses. You will be required to ensure that all assets adhere to UMG Global Standards whilst supporting fast turnaround of assets in a client-focused department ensuring a high standard is upheld throughout all processes. You will need to be sufficiently qualified and skilled to undertake a range of requisite technical tasks whilst maintaining a professional and personable attitude.
This role is primarily based at 4 Pancras Square, but on occasion you will be expected to work from some of our other locations across London.
The B Side: Skills & Experience
Be Organised
- In conjunction with other members of the UMG Global Asset & Archive Team provide support for all departments within Universal Music and clients to a high quality in an efficient and pro-active manner. This role is often subject to demanding situations i.e., Prioritising workload and resolving requests in a timely manner under client scrutiny
Be Collaborative
- Work closely with the UMG Global Asset & Archive Team and colleagues to learn the relevant technologies where necessary and develop in the role
- Deal tactfully with clients, internally and externally, at all times while passing on any significant concerns to colleagues or members of the Management team when and where necessary
Person Specification
Necessary
- Have working knowledge of databases, Digital Asset Management systems, Microsoft Word and Excel. Accurate metadata capture is required
- Be fluent on both Mac and PC. Most work is carried out in OSX
- To have working knowledge of Adobe Photoshop, Lightroom, Affinity Photo, relevant scanning software
- To have working knowledge of traditional photographic processes – negatives, transparencies, print – and how best to digitise
- Knowledge of photography, through prior working experience or recognised qualifications
- Strong interest & general music knowledge of Artists, Bands etc.
- Ability to fault find and problem solve
- Knowledge of associated technologies
- Ability to work calmly under pressure, anticipating changing requirements
- Good communication skills and natural team player
- Analytical skills in a technical environment desirable
- Self-motivated and conscientious
- High attention to detail and ownership of tasks
- Commitment to providing an efficient and effective service
- The ability to work across and support colleagues in all areas of the business
