Job description
We’re looking for a Photographer to join the passionate creative team here at Oak Furnitureland. The role is crucial to ensure our stores and website have all the images they need to show our products at their best. One day you may be shooting cut outs of a new cabinetry range, the next a seasonal lifestyle for Christmas.
You will report into our Head of Creative, and manage a Studio Assistant. This is a fast paced environment, and very hands on. You’ll be up for helping build our sets, liaising with our producer on timings and our stylists on creative direction from purpose built Bristol Studio above our store. With a busy year ahead of us, and some new brand platforms on the horizon - it’s an exciting time to join. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone who is creative and looking to take the next challenge in their career.
Being studio based, you’ll need to be on site for the shoots. But we’re happy for retouching/admin days to be from home.
Key responsibilities:
To deliver Interior and product photography to the highest quality for the Oak Furnitureland customers
You will take direction from our Creative Products and Art Directors, but be confident to share your ideas too
You must be able to remain calm and professional while maintaining a positive and proactive attitude.
This role needs a great team player with good communication skills who is eager to learn and develop.
You will be able to identify with the ever-changing requirements of an in-house studio.
It is vital to build and maintain strong relationships across departments within the business - from Creative and PR to Logistics and Buying.
This is a photography role, but if you’re interested in video too, we can definitely incorporate it into the role. But it’s not a requirement.
Skills and experience:
Experience in e-commerce, interior and product photography is essential.
Must have an expert knowledge of photography, retouching, colour matching and lighting techniques.
Competence of using Photoshop & Capture One.
Native on MAC Operating systems.
Happy working in a studio environment.
Forward thinking, innovative & proactive in approach to all projects
Workload management and organisational capabilities - there’s a lot to juggle!
Great interpersonal, problem solving and presentation skills.
Creative flair and knowledge, not afraid to share ideas and solutions.
A strong communicator and listener.
Be commercially minded and aware of current trends.
Comfortable with a highly pressured and rapidly changing environment.
A portfolio or website of work you’re proud of.
Exemplary attention to detail.
