We have an exciting opportunity for a Photographer to join our Customer team based in our Central Support Office in Lasswade. Your role will be to support Dobbies by producing appropriate images for use across a range of media platforms. Our Photographer role offers a hybrid pattern of home working and working from our Central Support Office. You can choose to work more frequently in the office if you'd prefer.

Role Contribution

  • Shooting at volume high quality ecommerce photography always adhering to brand guidelines
  • Familiar with tethered shooting
  • Shooting creative imagery for the wider creative team as required to brief and within the brand guidelines
  • Communicating with Digital Designers regularly on any retouch specific notes
  • Ensuring that cut out targets are met, and the imagery is supplied on time
  • Ensuring cut out photography is evenly lit, in focus and making sure the product looks the best it can look
  • Researching current styles and trends within product photography for development and growth of the Dobbies brand
  • Working collaboratively with the wider team on shoot planning
  • Sample management process – working closely with Buyers and BMA’s
  • Keeping an organised studio
  • Filing and renaming images

Systems

  • Good experience with Adobe photoshop, lightroom and Capture1 software and excellent retouch knowledge
  • Experience in creating/editing video and reel production for social channels
  • Good knowledge of common digital capture platforms, various lighting environments, photography equipment and best practices/conventions for set safety
  • Good knowledge of camera systems and lighting set ups

Personal attributes

  • A portfolio that demonstrates high quality ecommerce creative photography
  • Experience in a professional ecommerce studio environment a bonus
  • Self-motivated but able to work within a very close-knit team
  • Excellent communication skills both verbal and written
  • Confident and comfortable liaising across all levels and departments
  • A keen creative eye, high standards, and attention to detail
  • High levels of taste and a desire to improve.
  • To be able to work well under pressure and have a flexible attitude. Responds well to feedback.
  • Committed to achieving the best quality imagery at all times
