Photo Editor
Salary: Up to $65,000 dependant on experience.
We are looking for a Photo Editor to join us at Reach Plc, in this role you will support and help drive our use of engaging images on all platforms and across Reach titles.
More people in the UK and Ireland choose a Reach brand for their news, entertainment and sport than any other commercial publisher, with a combined print and digital reach of 48m a month.
We own over 130 trusted national and local media brands, including the Mirror, Express, Star and OK! magazine, and reach an incredible 80% of the UK online population. Were also home to 21 of the top 25 regional titles in the UK, including the Manchester Evening News, Liverpool Echo and MyLondon.

This role is a hybrid position working both from home and from our New York hub, we are therefore open to candidates commutable to New York. Please note in order to be suitable for this role you must be eligible to work in the US.
What will the role involve?
You will assist the Senior Photo Editor, sourcing and editing the relevant images for News, Showbiz and Features stories while keeping up to date with all things celebrity via newspapers, websites and magazines and liaising with photo agencies to secure images.
You will help maintain clear brand identities for all titles and keep images relevant to the reader along with embracing innovation, you will review existing ways of working and be pro-active in helping to move the Photo Hub forward. Searching for images requested by editors and photo editors to accompany news, feature or sports stories. Checking stories to make sure images are credited correctly and the best images have been used to illustrate the story.
Who are we looking for?
You have a good understanding of image usage rights when obtaining images from social media and the internet with a sound knowledge of Photoshop. You have a great eye for detail, experience in the photo industry - photo agencies, PRs and photographers and a keen interest in both photography and current affairs.
You have a great understanding of photos that have impact and add value to a story, the ability to work to tight deadlines with a calm and professional approach along with a thorough understanding of copyright, content licensing laws, IPSO, GDPR and IP rights associated with digital assets.
