Job description
We are looking to recruit a Full Time Phlebotomist to be part of a wider Phlebotomy team at Royal Cornwall Hospital. Following a period of training and working with the main team at Treliske, the post will be located in other hospital sites supporting the development of community diagnostic hubs in Cornwall.
This is an exciting time to join an expanding team as we look to build new services for our patients across Cornwall. We are looking for full time members of staff who are prepared to work remotely or across multiple sites .
Hours of work will cover 7 days per week on a shift pattern.
This Role is to perform Venepuncture with a team of Phlebotomist whilst providing optimum patient care.
To participate in the provision of a team of Community Phlebotomists in supporting patients out in the community requiring any routine, emergency and elective blood tests.

To visit Wards, and Outpatient Clinics to take venous blood samples from patients as requested by a Doctor or a member of nursing staff and in accordance with written procedures.
To ensure that your responsibilities for the prevention and control of infection are fulfilled by following all Trust guidelines and protocols.
To arrange delivery to the appropriate laboratories according to current Pathology policy.
To undertake first line tests on blood samples in accordance with written procedures.
To respect patient Confidentiality and Dignity.
At all times to work in accordance with the procedures and policies of the Trust, in particular Clinical Skills training package (Practice development) and Health and Safety.
To liaise with the Phlebotomy Manager/Senior Phlebotomist within the department to provide a continuous and efficient phlebotomy service whilst maintaining regular updated training .
