Age UK has a fantastic opportunity for a Philanthropy Manager to join our award-winning fundraising team.
We’re seeking an ambitious individual who is experienced in making the ‘ask’ and who is passionate about making life better for older people.
Reporting to the Head of Corporate Partnerships & Philanthropy, you will be responsible for building and managing a mixed portfolio of new and existing supporters, delivering exceptional stewardship to ensure our income targets are met or exceeded.
There is a huge amount of potential for Age UK’s Philanthropy programme and this role would suit someone with excellent communication skills with the drive and enthusiasm to make things happen.
As this is a hybrid opportunity, with a blend of home and office working, the successful applicant will be required to commute to the central London co-working hub as required. UK travel and overnight stays may be necessary from time to time.
Must haves:
- Experience managing and developing strong relationships with high value supporters.
- Experience in personally, requesting and securing major gifts (£10k+).
- Experience working closely with senior colleagues and volunteers to engage supporters.
- Experience carrying out prospect research.
- Experience monitoring income budgets and regular forecasting.
- The ability and drive to ensure our philanthropy programme reaches its potential.
- Outstanding verbal and written communication skills.
- Excellent knowledge of philanthropy best practice, compliance and innovation.
- Sound financial management and reporting skills.
- A passion to join Age UK in supporting older people across the UK.
