BRIEF DESCRIPTION
To provide excellent customer service through the deliverance of pharmaceutical services and to contribute to the achievement of branch targets.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- To provide an accurate, efficient and professional dispensing service to all customers.
Providing dispensing support and working competently and co-operatively with all other team members.
Adhering to the Standard Operating Procedures at all times.
Reporting of all dispensing errors and logging of all near misses according to Company policy to ensure safe practice is always adopted and engaging any necessary measures to rectify or prevent additional errors.
Maintaining patient confidentiality at all times.
Providing due consideration in sensitive situations and consulting with the pharmacist and/or other healthcare professionals to resolve issues.
Abiding by the RPSGB Code of Ethics observing and applying all professional, ethical and legal obligations.
- To support the provision of additional professional services from the branch.
Assisting when appropriate in the delivery of other core or non-core pharmaceutical services.
This may entail committing and undertaking any training necessary to deliver those services.
- To provide excellent customer service.
Genuinely greeting customers and identifying customers’ need efficiently and appropriately.
Providing accurate, relevant and safe advice by following medicines protocol when responding to requests for medicines.
Processing sales transactions in a timely, accurate and professional manner according to Company policy and offering additional products or services as appropriate against identified customer needs.
- To maintain continuing professional development.
Commitment to continuing education and keeping abreast of current development including those from external sources.
Receiving internal communication and acting upon them when necessary.
Attending any training sessions when required.
- To provide operational efficiency.
Adhering to company policies and guidelines with particular reference to processing prescriptions, prescription accounting and management.
Operating a stock rotation policy for stock received and management system to reduce wastage and excess stock.
Using and maintaining the pharmacy management system accurately.
Ensuring optimum levels of procurement items (dispensing bottles, boxes etc.) are maintained.
Following instructions diligently when new systems are introduced.
- To liase and co-operate professionally with internal and external customers.
Communicating effectively to evoke teamwork amongst colleagues.
Forging and maintaining relationships with other healthcare professionals e.g. GP surgeries, care home personnel etc.
Dealing and co-operating professionally in a timely manner with all other external personnel e.g. pharmacy inspector etc.
