About the Department:
The Pharmacy service is open on Monday to Friday from 8.30am to 8pm and is on Saturday morning from 9am to 2.30pm. Applicants will contribute to our excellent evening service from 5.30pm – 8.00pm – Monday to Friday and on Saturday morning.

Role Overview:
A key member of the Pharmacy Team to assist in the provision of a comprehensive pharmacy service which consistently meets the needs of all service users. The post holder will contribute to the efficient day to day running of the dispensary, working under the supervision of a Senior Pharmacy Technician and receiving Pharmacist support.
Responsibilities include dispensing and checking, patient counselling, stock management, assisting training of staff and ensuring dispensary duties are completed. All processes must be in line with legislation: CQC, Home Office, GPh.C, and MHRA and BCH SOP standards.
What you'll do:
To ensure effective workflow and safe medicines management through the working day in liaison with the Dispensary Services Senior Technician.
To enable the clinical pharmacy services, ensuring it is responsive and appropriate and that the professional image of the department is upheld at all times.
To pro-actively escalate communications to resolve and improve any workflow issues to ensure all team members are suitably informed. To actively participate in team meetings.
To ensure efficient, safe work processes are in place to maintain patient safety.
To assist in ensuring that all processes are RPS and GPh.C compliant and be actively involved with self-inspections where appropriate.
To read and comply with the Responsible Pharmacist and any other applicable SOPs within the Pharmacy department (Be familiar with all existing SOPs and work to that standard).
To work within the remit of the SOPs under the direct supervision of Responsible Pharmacists within the Outpatient Pharmacy
What are we looking for in our Medicine Counter Assistant?
Excellent written and spoken English.
NVQ Level 2 in Pharmacy Services or equivalent MCA qualification
Experience of retail / hospital pharmacy.
Computer literate.
Experience in service delivery in area of Pharmacy
