Pettswood Pharmacy is a late-night independent community pharmacy open every day based at 83 Queensway, Pettswood, Orpington, Kent, BR5 1DQ. We offer a range of professional services as well as the dispensing of NHS, private and veterinary prescriptions. We are proud to be the only pharmacy in Bromley or Orpington to have installed Robotic Prescription Dispensing. This allows for fast and efficient dispensing of prescriptions as well as decreased waiting times. We can collect your prescriptions from local surgeries as well as provide a free delivery service.
Our Pharmacist is qualified to advise you on both your over-the-counter and prescription medicines. The Pharmacy provides a range of professional services to help improve patient health. We provide a personal, friendly service and do our utmost to offer the best service we can. We work closely with local GP surgeries, district nurses other healthcare professionals, hospitals and care homes and we are always interested in developing such relationships.

We are looking for an intelligent, self-motivated individual with or without dispensing experience to join our friendly team of qualified professionals to bring quality service to our patients. The successful applicant will be someone with great customer service skills, who is able to grow the business further and support the Pharmacist with a number of medication dispensing functions, housekeeping, checking deliveries as well as promoting other healthy living services such as smoking cessation, flu vaccines and various other private PGD’s.
You will work under the supervision of the Pharmacist, and will be responsible for providing a safe and efficient service to our patients, your duties will include
· Serve our patients sensitively at the counter in a polite and efficient manner and in accordance with the company’s standard operating procedures.
Assist customers in documenting prescription charges/exemptions and advise when medicines can be bought more cheaply over the counter.
· Accurately complete financial transactions with patients including calculation of prescription charges, handling of cash, and cards and operating the till.
· Hand out repeat prescriptions on customer request ensuring thorough checks are made and ensure appropriate information is given to the customer where necessary
· To be working towards or have completed an accredited MCA training course under the guidance of the pharmacist.
· Be able to recommend suitable products by understanding the main features of stocked lines and provide advice about the benefits and the correct use of them to our patients, and referral to the pharmacist when appropriate.
· Provide advice on leading a healthy lifestyle.
General housekeeping and expiry date checking to maintain the cleanliness of the shop floor and dispensary.
· Safe disposal of returned medicines.
Check and put away daily orders.
· General administrative duties.
Awareness of health and safety and adherence to Pharmacy Security Policies.

We require two motivated and energetic individuals who can demonstrate a professional and caring manner towards our customers.
A pharmacy assistant provides assistance to registered pharmacists and pharmacy technicians
Teamwork and communication skills are essential and will be needed daily to liaise with colleagues, customers, carers and healthcare professional
Assist with stock control to maximize availability and minimize waste.
To assist with the engagement of patients onto advanced services such as MURs and NMS.
Ensure the safe and appropriate storage of medicines.
To work as part of a team and support pharmacy colleagues if needed.
To maintain up-to-date knowledge and understanding of pharmacy issues for the purpose of continuing professional development.
To assist in providing pharmaceutical care to patients by carrying out reasonable duties as determined by the pharmacist.
Previous experience is an advantage but not essential as full training will be given. Duties will include serving customers, cash handling, stock replenishment and assisting the pharmacist as and when required.
Petts wood pharmacy is a late-night pharmacy that retails seven days a week. We currently have two part-time & Fulltime posts available.
The post involves Meeting and greeting customers, providing over the counter advice and general retail stock replenishment. You shall also be required to load pharmaceutical stock into the pharmacy’s dispensing robot, full training shall be provided.
The successful candidates shall be required to assist in the dispensary to prepare medication for nursing homes.
The day-to-day tasks for job holders in this position may include ordering and assembling medical products, coordinating with wholesalers, inventory duties, delivering products, labelling and pre-packing products, and directing enquiries to pharmacists and technicians.
The positions require good communication skills, outstanding attention to detail and a Level 2 NVQ certificate in pharmacy service skills for which the company shall provide by means of on-the-job training.
Main duties shall include; processing and dispensing prescription medication, receiving and storing stock, communication with other Healthcare professionals, general dispensary duties, and as mentioned above the sale of over-the-counter medicines, customer service and supporting the various pharmacy services.
