Job description

An exciting opportunity to join a growing team as an apprentice dog handler.

Duties will include but not limited to;

• Dealing with customers checking in and out dogs.
• Processing small retail orders and offering feedback on their dogs day.
• Cleaning, all day after the dogs and complete clean each day.
• Taking care of, managing and training a group of dogs, at times solo.
• Completed allocated tasks, following procedures to ensure our high standards are met.
• Dog training, management and interactive play.

Desired Skills and Qualities:

• Motivated,
• physically/sporty minded
• Confident around people
• Good communication skills

Desired Qualifications:

• GCSE (or current equivalent) in maths, English and science desired but not essential.
• Candidates must not already hold a Level 2 or higher in Animal Care.
• Sports, team captaincy is also beneficial.

Future Prospects:

• You will immediately become part of our team. Our business is growing, and you can grow with our business too. We hope that apprentices will be given the opportunity to stay with us and possibly progress to supervisor or specialist roles.

Training:

• Full training to be provided by the employer and KEITS at the place of employment.
• The applicant will be working towards and gain a Level 2 animal care apprenticeship.
• The learner will be allocated an industry specific training consultant who will provide both remote and on-site visit throughout the apprenticeship.
• The apprentice will work towards an End Point Assessment (EPA) at the end of their apprenticeship.
