Job description
Self Employed, Experienced Dog Trainer/ Dog Training Instructor
Dogs and their owners know they can trust Baywood Dog Training Ltd for positive, force free, rewarding dog training that gets results. We are looking to collaborate with self-employed, positive reinforcement trainers in the North East to reach the dogs that need our help as quickly as possible.
By joining forces with us, you will give dogs a voice and teach those who care for them how to listen. Stepping into the lives of our human and canine clients you’ll become the vital bridge between them, opening up the lines of communication and leaving as a hero who has restored peace, given hope and massively improved the life of each dog you encounter.
As you strategically guide clients through their dog training journey, your devotion to positive reinforcement training will show the world that kindness really is powerful.
As part of our mission to improve the lives of dogs and reduce their numbers in rescue shelters, you will:
- Skilfully and enthusiastically deliver our private 1-2-1 and/or residential training programs.
- Compassionately consult with owners as you investigate any behavioural concerns to uncover root causes and any contributing environmental factors.
- Craft and implement methodical, comprehensive training plans that focus on the owner’s goals and the dog’s needs.
- Set dogs up for long term success by ensuring owners understand their role in creating and maintaining desirable behaviour.
- Teach owners the best methods for working with their dog and set tasks for in between sessions that will aid progression.
To work with us, it is essential that you have:
- Proven, professional dog training and instructing experience.
- Have a natural affinity with dogs and a thorough understanding of their behaviour.
- Animal behaviour qualifications and certification.
- A passion for positive training methods.
- Public Liability Insurance.
- A driving license and your own vehicle.
- Valid DBS
- Be organised, reliable and trustworthy.
- If you wish to provide residential training, you will need a home boarders license in line with the Animal Welfare (Licensing of Activities Involving Animals) (England) Regulations 2018.
Each assignment will give you exciting challenges to keep you on your toes and you’ll have the freedom to set your own schedule without the worry of sourcing clients.
Our ‘Pooches before Profit’ policy means that your work with us will leave a legacy that will keep the tails of dogs in need wagging across the UK and Portugal.
Be part of something big and join us as we inspire, educate and empower our clients to keep dogs out of shelters and living their best life.
