Do you thrive on delivering a personalised service? Do you care about the quality of the service you provide? Do you enjoy being physically active in your work? Are you keen on a workplace that strives for attention to detail? Do you like to develop procedures and processes that streamline workflow? Want to work in close proximity to pets and vets and help pets get healthier?
We are offering you the chance to join our busy, hands-on team in Fort Kinnaird as a Pet Health Advisor.
What does a typical day look like?
Your focus will be to provide a leading service to our clients and outstanding care for their pets – you will be the intimate link between the pet owner and the clinical team. Your ability to build strong relationships with our clients, their pets and the team is critical to your success.
The day will be largely spent working in parallel with your clinical colleagues. Your work is twofold; you shepherd the client journey and you facilitate the pet treatment plan. The first priority is to take instruction from the services department and ensure the client is appraised of and led through their entire journey with us. You will inform of practice offerings and opportunities, keep up to date, accurate records, take payments, manage accounts, make bookings and take care of all other communications with clients. The second part of the role involves taking instruction from vets and nurses in aiding treatment and ongoing care of the pet throughout the pet journey by direct animal handling, medicating under supervision and instruction of other vet recommendations. Clear delivery of information and providing a bespoke service to the client is what we look for. Detailed communication skills are essential within the team to ensure the pet has a timely and smooth transition through the practice. All training will be provided.
Who we are looking for:
We require a Pet Health Advisor who can demonstrate calmness, composure and is accommodating of the clients’ needs and expectations.
We want to see support, care and compassion in your interactions with clients and their pets.
Excellent presentation and professionalism is important to us.
Whilst remaining caring and communicative, we require a high standard of work and efficient delivery of procedures and processes.
We are a results focused practice and are looking for individuals that can provide solutions for clients whatever the challenge.
The practice uses specialised computer software, emails, communication platforms and all standard computer packages, so computer literacy, good speed of software familiarisation and navigation is a must.
You will be on your feet a lot of the day so we require someone who is physically able.
The role is for 30-35 hours a week and will include 1/3 weekend rota. Shift patterns are a range of half days either am or pam or full days. Flexibility is required to cover colleague absence.
Would suit:
Vet Care Assistant/Animal Care Assistant or Kennel assistant who thrives in the client care sector of the pet industry.
An individual from a fast paced client facing environment who is looking for something different and something progressive and has a passion for animals.
In return, we offer a supportive and friendly working environment together with career development opportunities and benefits that include pension scheme. Being part of the Pets at Home Group, you are entitled to 20% discount at The Vet Group, Pets at Home and the Groom Room as well as access to lots of discounts and cashback offers at a range of retail stores and online shops. We offer CPD courses through the Vets4Pets Learning Academy for those that progress well with the on boarding in house training and show a passion and a dedication for the role. We also offer some surgery based benefits which we can divulge on application.
