Coastal Carolina University is currently accepting applications for the following position: Assistant Golf Professional in the Department of Sports Turf and Golf Course Operations.
- Assist with the management of the golf operations in a professional and efficient manner in the absence of the General Manager and Head Professional.
- Be informed on and promote all course activities, including but not limited to: member events, tournaments, on-campus events, and daily coordination with the grounds crew staff.
- Directly supervise and assist with hiring, training, and scheduling of student workers and or PGA Golf Management Interns while focusing on University specific Customer Service training and procedures.
- Provide private golf instruction and clinics that are consistent with the instructional methods, policies, and procedures of the PGA and The Hackler Course.
- Teach CCU Physically Active Lifestyle classes (PALS) when time permits.
- Perform golf club repair as requested, as well as club fittings.
- Assists with the merchandise in the Golf Shop and online store.
- Assist in planning and budgeting for the golf operations, tournaments, outings, and leagues while using various golf related software applications.
- Assist the PGM Students on required course material from PGA work experience activities for graduation, including giving interviews, classroom guest appearances, and video lessons.
- Perform annual MSR requirements of PGA membership and maintain an active classification in the PGA of America.
- Assist with managing the golf cart fleet.
