Job description
We are supporting a family to recruit a female Personal Assistant / carer. The Personal Assistant is required to support a young lady with intractable epilepsy, dystonia, ataxia and learning disability with day-to-day tasks. The successful applicant will be caring and empathetic and able to remain calm under pressure.
The job is based in a family home.
Hours of work:
Waking night – 10pm to 8am (10 hours per night) 4 nights per week, Monday to Thursday.
Support includes:
- Support with personal care tasks including washing and dressing
- Support with continence aids
- Administration of medication via PEG once training has been completed
- Monitoring fluid intake and providing additional water via PEG when required
- Watching films
- Using a video monitor to ensure safety and responding to any health needs
- Keeping company if awake
This is not an exclusive list of tasks and other tasks may be required as advised

Experience:
Previous experience in a care setting is not essential but may be an advantage, full training will given. The successful candidate will be able to use their own initiative and have a positive attitude.
