Group Finance

A central function established to provide specialist financial support and knowledge to the rest of Network Rail

Consolidates the regions and functions to form companywide financial reporting for the board and external bodies

Leads the company wide business planning and reporting

Provides the framework for governance, risk, assurance and business improvement

Made up of the following teams: Group Chief Accountant, Group Finance & Governance, Business Planning & Analysis, Finance Planning & Analysis, Group Treasury, Group Claims & Insurance, Quality & Business Improvement and Corporate Functions Finance.


Brief Description


We are looking for a Personal Assistant to fill a 12-month Fixed Term/Secondment opportunity based in Milton Keynes to provide an efficient and effective personal support service to two Directors and their team to support the delivery of their objectives.


About the role (External)


The role of Personal Assistant is a multifaceted role in that you will undertake various duties including (but not limited to):

• Manage the Director’s calendar.

• Manage the Director’s personal budget, making comprehensive records available at all times.

• Make arrangements for functions, conferences visits and meetings.

• Co-ordinate and prepare agenda and papers for executive meetings and assist with any follow-up action as necessary.

• Supervise and organise workloads for clerical support team in conjunction with other functional managers.

• Maintain an efficient filing system paying particular attention to records of standing meetings, statutory records and authorisations.

• Utilise financial and procurement systems and act as Local Purchasing Agent (where directed).

• Review accounts received and process invoices for payment in accordance with Internal Control procedures.

The successful candidate for this role will be required to be/have: -

• Excellent organisation skills

• Experience of working with senior management

• Excellent time manager

• Ability to work under pressure

• Good MS Office skills

• Ability to work on own initiative

Duration: 12-month FTC, full time opportunity

: This role is based at The Quadrant:MK. For roles based in the Quadrant:MK, you must live within 75 minutes of The Quadrant.

Band & Salary: Band 5
£33,020 - £44,155 per annum (dependent upon experience) plus benefits
