Job description

The role of as an information analyst is to support the development and provision of a comprehensive information service to Surrey Heartlands ICB. They will provide technical expertise in the analysis, interpretation and presentation of complex data/information to senior managers and clinicians. They will also provide data/information to external stakeholders to ensure the organisation is able to meet its national commitments and mandatory requirements whilst complying with information governance.

Information will be disseminated to stakeholders in the organisation using a variety of tools such as Excel & Tableau to provide in robust insights into service redesign and population health management. The post holder will enable the provision of timely and accurate reporting to senior management to support the operational and strategic needs of the ICB and wider stakeholders

The information analyst will proactively manage the integrity and data quality of the ICB Data Warehouse by raising and resolving issues with the ICB Data Service provider. Strong skills in SQL are required to carry out these duties.

Analytical & Judgemental

  • To analyse, develop, interpret and present information to a high standard, and support the Senior Information Analyst in promoting the use and understanding of information provided.
  • To monitor and investigate data quality issues, ensuring problems are brought to the attention of the appropriate manager.
  • Carry out timely and accurate information analysis and reporting on agreed areas of portfolio
Communication
  • To work with clinicians and managers to identify their information needs and to analyse and provide information to support them in the delivery of healthcare/planning and decision making.
Financial & Physical Resources
  • Deliver against the ICB objectives, achieving quality outcomes, prioritising own workload and working to tight deadlines
  • Continually strive for delivering project/function outcomes, value for money and greater efficiency
  • Contribute to the financial delivery of the service ensuring it is cost effective and delivered on time
Information Management
  • Ensure that information provided is validated, accurate, appropriate, and presented to the departmental standard. To ensure that new developments comply with the department’s testing, change control and release procedures
  • Lead on development, implementation, monitoring and evaluation of new information systems/databases as required
