CPL UK are currently assisting a superb private fertility company with their recruitment process. We can offer a superb permanent role for an experienced Fertility Specialist Consultant to begin in London immediately.
Summary
The Fertility Specialist has to provide an excellent diagnostic and treatment service to patients and provide the nursing and medical team with proficient and effective support, training and leadership. The Fertility Specialist has to maximize clinical pregnancy rates while focusing on patient safety and minimizing multiple births and clinical complications in accordance with the Human Fertilisation and Embryology Authority (HFEA) Act and relevant professional Codes of Conduct.
CORE KNOWLEDGE AND UNDERSTANDING
The Fertility Specialist must have:
an understanding of the work of related disciplines;
an understanding of all prevailing legislation, including the HF&E Act (and subsequent revisions), Health and Safety policies
The ability to communicate highly sensitive and/or complex information effectively to colleagues, patients and other disciplines.
In addition, the post holder must adhere to the HFEA Code of Practice.
PRINCIPAL DUTIES & AREAS OF RESPONSIBILITY
Clinical
To undertake trial embryo transfers
To undertake oocyte collection
To undertake embryo transfers under ultrasonic guidance
To undertake HyCoSy and Aquascan
To undertake patient Consultations
To undertake ultrasound scans – baseline, follicle tracking, pregnancy scans and fetal ultrasound scans
To undertake PESA, TESA and Testicular Biopsy
Provide patients with advice and support as necessary throughout their treatment
To provide evidence-based medical practice, applying accepted and validated research
To ensure the rights, confidentiality and privacy of the patient are protected at all times
To participate in the Egg Donation Program
To participate as a member of the multi-disciplinary team to provide optimum patient care
To provide patients with clear and concise information prior to commencement of their treatment plan
To ensure patient’s safety and wellbeing at all times
To ensure that all records are kept in a clear, accurate and legible manner, and that all entries are signed and dated in accordance with the HFEA’s Code of Practice
To keep complete the computerized database
To undertake prescribed further training as required
To participate in a weekend roster as required
To take an active role in drafting and approving clinical policies, setting, monitoring and maintaining standards of care in conjunction with other team members
To ensure that agreed policies are followed, notifying the General Manager or Director of problems and incidents as appropriate
Professional
To act at all times in accordance with the Code of Professional Conduct and responsible for ensuring professional development and study days as required
To ensure that there is evidence of professional indemnity and registration of the General Medical Council
To act in such a way as to promote the company and their roles in the independent sector
To work in a collaborative and co-operative manner
To safeguard any confidential information received and ensure it is handled in an appropriate manner

To be considered for this role you must have the below:
- 12 months IVF experience
- UK experience
- Full GMC Licence
- Availability for PERMANENT work
