About the role

Avonline is looking for an individual with demonstrable experience working within the utilities industry, or a similar works management industry, operating as an Analyst. This is not a commercial/finance role, but an operational performance function, focusing on key metrics such as productivity, safety, compliance, and other key performance indicators. This is a growing function within a growing business, and as such not only does it comes with opportunity for growth, but also opportunities to influence the direction, culture, and design of the department.
Reporting into the Senior Optimisation & Performance Manager, the role holder will be responsible for providing actionable insights and performance analysis to drive strategic decision-making and improve business performance.
OVERVIEW OF RESPONSIBILITIES
- Analyse and combine data from various sources and systems to provide insights and recommendations for optimising business strategies and improving performance.
- Develop and implement key performance indicators (KPIs), scorecards, and dashboards to track business performance and identify areas for improvement.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define and monitor performance metrics aligned with business objectives.
- Conduct regular data analysis to identify trends, patterns, and opportunities for operational efficiency and revenue growth.
- Present findings and insights in a clear and concise manner to stakeholders, including senior management, to support strategic decision-making.
- Proactively identify areas of potential improvement, make recommendations, and drive initiatives to enhance operational effectiveness and customer satisfaction.
What competencies are we looking for?
- Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in a similar role, preferably in the telecommunications industry.
- Proven track record of analysing large datasets, drawing actionable insights, and delivering data-driven recommendations.
- Experience working with various data analysis and visualization tools (e.g. Excel, Power BI).
- Familiarity with statistical analysis and modelling techniques.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to think strategically and translate complex data into meaningful insights.
- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to present findings and recommendations to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy in data analysis and reporting.
- Proficient in project management, with the ability to prioritize and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Solid understanding of business performance measurement, including KPIs and scorecards.
- Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams to achieve common goals.
- Proactive mindset with a continuous improvement orientation.
- Adaptable and flexible, with the ability to quickly learn new tools and technologies.
- Strong business acumen with the ability to understand and analyse market trends and competitive landscapes
