Sircle Collection is coming to London in 2023. We’re launching our first UK boutique hotel property and looking for an experienced People & Culture Manager to join our team and successfully bring our brand to a new market.

Opening in Q3 of 2023, the property will be located in Devonshire Square and will include 91 guest rooms, a signature restaurant, a gym, The Cover members’ club and a cocktail bar. The newest location will be part of Sircle Collections’ vibrant group of one-of-a-kind hotels, restaurants and bars in Europe's most interesting neighborhoods.

As People & Culture Manager, you’ll be joining our team to nurture and grow this unique property. In this role, you’ll be responsible for fulfilling our employee brand promise and embodying our brand values by providing heartfelt service, leading with creativity and ambition, and creating surprising experiences for our team members and guests every step of the way.

You will also ensure a timely opening within budget while overseeing the recruitment of key positions to build a strong team. After the opening, you will be responsible for all aspects of the employee experience to ensure we provide work that sparks real connections, and enable people to do their best work.

About the role

Initially, the People & Culture Manager will play a crucial role in the hotel (pre-) opening process, ensuring the hotel opens on time, and within budget. As part of the management team, and in close collaboration with the Head Office in Amsterdam, you will be responsible for setting up the People & Culture department. Once the hotel is open, you will work with the management team to ensure we offer an employee experience that encourages our people to create special memories together, and to go home each day with great stories to tell, proud accomplishments to brag about, and a full heart. You will report to the VP People & Culture.

Your responsibilities include:

  • Pre-opening & set up of P&C department: establish guidelines, policies and processes in line with Sircle Collection guidelines, policies and local labour agreements and laws;
  • Recruitment: develop and place job advertisements, applicant screening and selection of future team members; liaising with recruitment agencies and other third-party recruitment partners;
  • HR administration and registration: Ensure accurate personnel files and administration, including ensuring permits, etc.;
  • Training & development: develop and facilitate in-house training; with support from Sircle Collection Head Office P&C team;
  • Pay roll: Ensure accurate pay rolling and corresponding reporting and analysis;
  • Provide day-to-day advice to operations managers and employees on all HR-related issues;
  • Ensure compliance with all local labor laws, health and safety regulations, and all other applicable laws and regulations, as well as ensure all mandatory training and reporting is completed.


About you

  • You have a passion for hospitality and for creating an excellent guest and employee experience.
  • You enjoy working in a dynamic and rapidly changing environment. You take accountability for achieving results, for delivering an excellent guest experience, for attracting and retaining outstanding talent, and for achieving your targets on time, and within budget.
  • You are an experienced People & Culture Manager, with a modern approach, and with strong knowledge of local labor laws and HR practices. The ideal candidate is hands on, can quickly establish credibility and respect, and easily creates strong working relationships. Your approach is positive, enthusiastic and creative. This role could develop into a regional function in the future as our company grows.

You have

  • A Bachelor degree in human resources/hospitality management;
  • 3- 5 years’ experience in a comparable role, preferably in a (boutique) hotel;
  • (Pre)opening experience is a plus;
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, both verbally and written;
  • Excellent knowledge of local labor laws, as well as regulations in the hospitality sector;
  • A self-starter with ability to set priorities and multi-task, with a hands-on proactive approach.
