Salary: $24.04 to $26.44/hr DOE + 12% Locality Pay (Approximate gross earnings from $26.92 to $$29.61/hr DOE)

ABOUT OUR STREET OUTREACH PROGRAMS
PATH's Street Outreach programs work to engage individuals who are currently homeless and living on the streets in an effort to provide and link them with services that will ultimately lead them to stabilize in housing long-term.
WHAT IS A PEER SUPPORT SPECIALIST?
As part of the Street Outreach Team, Peer Support Specialists leverage their first-hand experience to develop positive relationships with clients and provide on-going support that assists them with obtaining and maintaining sustainable housing. Responsibilities of the Peer Support Specialist include:
Participating in daily street outreach to engage, develop relationships, and build rapport with individuals experiencing homelessness
Collaborating with the team and clients to develop Housing Stabilization Plans (HSP) that identify clear objectives related to stabilizing in housing
Providing case management such as assisting with housing location, temporary financial assistance, and assistance with benefit applications and accessing health services
Providing crisis intervention services to the homeless community
Monitoring client progression through their HSP
Assisting clients with obtaining documentation necessary to obtain housing
Promoting and following the program established values, guidelines and rules
WHAT YOU BRING
We’re looking for candidates that:
Take a non-judgmental, respectful approach when working with individuals with urgent and multiple case management and health needs
Work just as well independently as they do on a team
Exercise mature judgement, and are highly motivated, self-starting, and proactive
Are excellent at communicating, whether in writing or verbally
Have a strong sense of prioritization and can coordinate multiple demands in a high-pressure environment
Demonstrate strong interpersonal skills, including the ability to interact and build successful collaborative relationships with a diverse range of individuals at all levels of the the organization, both internally and externally
Effectively cope with and resolve immediate crisis situations
Maintain and execute confidential information according to HIPPA and all other applicable standards
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
An excellent candidate for this role will:
Be a certified Peer Support Specialist
Have experience providing direct client services to vulnerable populations
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
To be considered for this position, we require all candidates:
Have lived experience, including successful recovery, with issues related to homelessness, mental health, and/or substance use challenges which can be utilized to enhance effectiveness of services by informing service models and/or supporting clients through shared personal experiences.
MANDATORY REQUIREMENTS
Regardless of qualifications, the Peer Support Specialist must:
Be able and willing to provide in-home and community-based services on a regular basis
Be able and willing to work flexible hours which may include evenings or weekends
Have employment eligibility verification
Have or be able and willing to obtain CPR/First Aid training
Provide proof of full COVID-19 vaccination
Successfully complete the following as a condition of hire:
Tuberculosis Test
Background Screening
Drug Test

Driving is an essential function of this position. To meet the employment requirements for this role, all candidates must:
Have reliable transportation
A valid driver’s license
Proof of insurance and ownership for personal vehicles used during work duties
The ability to qualify for PATH's insurance coverage
