Job description
Nursery Assistant
Are you sensitive to the needs of others and keen to learn new skills?
The Elizabeth Foundation works with young deaf children and their families.
We are looking for a Nursery Assistant to join our team of Teachers of the Deaf, Speech and Language Therapists and nursery staff, providing specialist education, childcare and family support at our Family Centre in Cosham.
Previous experience of working with preschool children who are deaf or who have other special needs is useful but not vital. We are looking for a reliable, responsible, friendly and adaptable person, who will help us give young deaf children the chance to learn to listen and talk.
You will assist the Teacher of the Deaf with the supervision and educational needs of children and their parents. You will be involved in the planning and implementation of a curriculum that encourages meaningful language and communication skills, based on the Early Years Foundation Stage.
The deadline for applications is 9.00 am on Monday 31st July 2023.
Interviews will be held on 2nd and 3rd August.
This post requires enhanced DBS checks as there may be periods of unsupervised access to children.
