This role is part of a larger 12-person team, 29-month project with the University of Lincoln and UK Soft Fruit Growers.
We're on the hunt for a passionate and innovative PDRA/Research Assistant to join our squad and elevate our agricultural data analysis, database management, and exploratory methodologies to the next level. In this role, you'll be pivotal in ensuring our AI technologies are fed with precise and actionable data, aligning with the broader mission of the company. With a high degree of autonomy and flexibility, you'll collaborate with our dynamic team of trailblazing engineers and researchers. At FruitCast, you'll have the freedom to work on projects that spark your interest. A full manual driving license that permits you to drive within the UK is essential.
Responsibilities
As our PDRA/Research Assistant, you'll:
- Collect and curate vital agricultural data for our platform.
- Conduct detailed exploratory data analyses and produce insights.
- Collect and process large volumes of agricultural data.
- Collaborate with the tech team to ensure alignment between data collection and AI processes.
- Contribute to our infrastructure roadmap, devise solutions for complex challenges, and ensure scalable performance.
- Help cultivate relationships between FruitCast and external parties, such as suppliers, growers, and contractors.
Requirements
The ideal candidate:
- Holds a bachelor's degree in Agricultural Sciences, Data Analytics, or a related technical field or has equivalent practical experience.
- Has at least 3 years of experience in data collection and database management.
- Flaunts a track record of being a self-motivated problem solver.
- Is an exceptional team player with the ability to thrive in a cross-functional team.
- Is a lifelong learner, hungry to discover more and constantly upskill.
- Has experience with database querying, Python.
- Is proficient with version control systems (e.g., Git) and databases (e.g., SQL, MongoDB).
