We are a family run business based in Ripley, Derbyshire, DE5 3NW and are looking for a Payroll Administrator to join our ever-expanding business on a full-time and permanent basis.
You will report directly to the HR Manager and assist in the smooth running of the department, carrying out Payroll and ad-hoc HR administrative tasks to support business requirements.
This a busy and fast-paced role where every day is different, so this position is ideal for someone with end-to-end payroll processing experience.
Working Hours: Mon – Fri 9:00am – 5:00pm.
Salary: Up to £23,500 per annum (dependant upon experience)
Main Duties & Responsibilities:
- Accurately process the monthly payroll in a timely manner.
- Dealing with employee salary and payroll queries.
- HMRC / RTI.
- Ensure new starter details, salary calculations, tax documents and entitlements are correct.
- Calculation of employee payroll including deductions and contributions.
- Run regular payroll reports.
- Providing clerical and administrative support to the HR Manager as and when required.
- Assist with creating, maintaining, and updating payroll processes.
- Taking accurate minutes for HR related meetings.
The above list of duties is not exclusive and the post holder will be required to undertake such tasks as may reasonably be expected within the scope and grading of the post.
What you’ll need:
- Strong payroll administrative experience in a similar position is ESSENTIAL.
- Knowledge and understanding of PAYE / NIC, and statutory payroll obligations and recoveries such as SSP, SMP.
- Familiarity of benefits and other wage deductions.
- Experienced in using Payroll software and quick to learn new ones.
- Competent with spreadsheets and with handling and analysing large volumes of data.
- Able to prioritise, multi-task and manage own workload.
- Excellent communication skills.
- In-depth knowledge of the Microsoft software.
- Must be a team player.
