Payroll and Training Assistant
Role Summary
Location: Northallerton, North Yorkshire
Salary: From £24,944 to £26,244 per year
Contract: Permanent, Full time (40 hours per week) Monday - Friday
Benefits: 32 days’ holiday plus company pension and other benefits

NY Highways provides highways services across North Yorkshire and the surrounding areas. From road maintenance, street lighting and snow clearance to road signs and pavement repairs, we operate in close partnership with North Yorkshire Council combining a commercial focus with public sector values.
We have an exciting opportunity for a Payroll and Training Assistant to join our HR team. If you already have experience of working in a payroll environment and are interested in developing experience in planning and organising training, this could be the role for you.
You’ll be involved in a wide variety of tasks, providing specialist administrative support to ensure our employees are paid correctly and on time and that training needs across the business are met.
You’ll support in the preparation of accurate payroll data, processing of new starters, leavers, contract changes and additional payments and absences. Where necessary, you will undertake some manual calculations therefore, numeracy skills to Level 2 or equivalent are essential.
Developing and training our employees is a high priority for us and you’ll support with planning and organising training, including liaising with training providers and course delegates and their managers as needed.
You’ll have good communication skills, strong IT skills and a high attention to detail. You’ll also be able to work to strict deadlines, prioritising your work accordingly.
