Job Summary
Supports the Non-Operating Payroll group within the CSX Payroll Department. The group is responsible for the accurate and timely processing of Non-Operating Payroll and Manpower position administration. This position will provide problem resolution, support current and future system testing and programming, ensure compliance with the collective bargaining agreements, and work on cross-functional analytical projects to help improve efficiencies.
Primary Activities and Responsibilities
- Supports the daily non-operating payroll and manpower processes, including ongoing daily support of the various payroll and manpower applications for problem resolution, process changes, and implementation of new systems or processes.
- Works with employees at different levels and within multiple departments to resolve problems
- Performs business issue analysis and works on effective resolutions with an emphasis on identifying process improvement opportunities.
- Works on department initiatives, such as training and process improvement, along with other projects in a support and analytical capacity.
- Miscellaneous activities and responsibilities as assigned by manager
Minimum Qualifications
- Associates Degree/2-year Degree
- 3 or more years of experience in Payroll, Finance, Accounting, Labor Relations or Manpower
Equivalent Minimum Qualifications
- High School Diploma/GED
- 5 or more years of experience in Payroll, Finance, Accounting, Labor Relations or Manpower
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree/4-year Degree
- 1 or more years of experience in Payroll, Finance, Accounting, Labor Relations or Manpower
Knowledge and Skills
- Microsoft Office skills (including Excel, Word, Access and Powerpoint)
- Excellent organizational skills and ability to prioritize multiple tasks and responsibilities
- Strong analytical skills, interpersonal skills, oral and written communication skills and technical skills
- Ability to analyze, interpret and format large quantities of data for senior management
- Ability to maintain a high level of professionalism, especially while working under stress, pressure and deadlines
- Ability to handle multiple projects with competing deadlines
