We have created a new position for a Payroll Specialist. In this role you will deliver the full range of payroll transactional processes alongside providing pragmatic payroll advice and support to managers and employees. Reporting into our Payroll Manager you will ensure that all payroll activities, including transactional processing, compliance activity and reporting processes are completed in a timely and efficient manner.
WHAT YOU’LL WORK ON
- Maintain a detailed understanding of all legislation that impacts on payroll processing ensuring that payroll policies and procedures are followed and that there is compliance with the requirements of the business, HMRC and other statutory bodies and legislation.
- Ensure data on all employees is effectively processed and maintained by the competent use and understanding of the Payroll system and other HR/business databases.
- Develop and maintain collaborative and productive relationships with Clinical Operations and People Operations with a view to ensuring that the whole function works cohesively and professionally towards shared objectives and goals.
- Keep up to date with developments in appropriate legislation and payroll best practice, sharing acquired knowledge to ensure continuous improvement in the service offered.
- Maintain detailed work instructions for nominated processes to ensure that any policy, procedural or legislative changes are reflected.
- Ownership of preparing the payroll instructions for the vendors.
WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR
- At least 1 years' experience in a payroll position where you have had exposure to managing sensitive and confidential information (in compliance with the Data Protection Act and HMRC regulations)
- Knowledge of Income tax, National Insurance, Occupational and Statutory Sick Pay and Maternity Pay, and Pension Schemes would be ideal
- A good working knowledge of legislation in relation to employment and payroll taxes
- Good time management and organisational skills with the ability to multi-task and work accurately under pressure
- A high level of attention to detail
- Customer focus – making every effort to meet the needs and exceed expectations of customers (both internal and external)
