Job description
- Process payroll according to company policies and federal/state/local regulations.
- Ensure timely and accurate completion of US/Canada payments (including relevant deductions for employment taxes, other statutory deductions, benefits and other items) and funding.
- Provide process improvement recommendations to management.
- Communicates with employees and managers on basic and advanced payroll related issues and concerns.
- Build strong relationships across RELX , notably Tax, Finance, Human Resources and Workday HRIS teams.
- Assist with training of payroll staff as needed.
- Perform other related duties and projects as assigned and required.
- Extensive payroll experience, Canadian payroll is a plus
- Experience with Ceridian Dayforce is a plus.
- High school degree or equivalent, CPP or FCP certification is preferred.
- In depth understanding of financial/accounting/payroll/tax systems and software.
- Expertise in a variety of work processes through knowledge of systems that are utilized in interfacing, processing and reporting of payroll.
- Understanding of the roles and relationships of organizational units and processes.
- Excellent organizational, time management and communication skills.
- Strong attention to detail.
- Excellent interpersonal skills.
- Intermediate skills using Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel and Outlook software.
