Job description
Ensure patient movement and other movement requests are actioned promptly. Ensure the safe handling and movement of patients via wheelchair, trolley, and bed; making appropriate use of movement and handling aids, e.g. PAT slides, sliding sheets and bed pusher, following training in their use and application. Maintain high standard of cleanliness of equipment and accessories, e.g.
trolleys and operate equipment with care Carry out the expected role without the need for constant supervision and direction, although recognising limitations and seeking supervision where necessary and organises tasks that have been allocated. Ensuing that patients are helped to retain their dignity and individuality. Maintain patient and staff confidentiality. Take all reasonable steps to ensure the safe-keeping of patients' property, in accordance with Patients' Property Procedure Participate in individual performance review process using competency/ knowledge and skills framework.
To undertake such duties as required, enabling the ward areas to be effective in its use of resources. To assist in all general duties of housekeeping within Medicine when and where required Be prepared to attend and undertake any necessary training, being aware of the need to develop oneself and to strive to increase personal knowledge.
