An exciting opportunity has arisen within the surgical care group for a Patient Pathway Coordinator (Medical Secretary) to join the Urology team. This is a unique and exciting role as it will include coordinating the elective surgery program for the Urology team as well as providing secretarial support to the team.

The post holder will provide a comprehensive administration service for the Urology service. This is a very busy role and we are therefore looking for someone enthusiastic and excited to take on a new challenge. You will work closely with the Urology team to facilitate the smooth running of the patient journey by ensuring that co-ordinated and streamlined administrative processes revolve around the patient and their individual needs.

The hours of work will be between the core hours of 8am-6pm, Monday – Friday. Flexibility may be required based on demands of the role.

WHAT YOU’LL DO

The Patient Pathway Coordinator responsibilities will include:

  • Acting as point of contact between the patient and the clinical team
  • Managing patient pathways, chasing diagnostic and outpatient appointments as necessary.
  • Arranging inpatient admissions for elective surgery and any necessary appointments for both pre-assessment and admission.
  • Using Fluency to ensure patient clinic documentation is turned around in a timely manner
  • Managing consultant diary, making sure clinical commitments are cancelled as requested.
  • Booking outpatient appointments as and when required
Other administrative duties.
