Position Summary

The Patient Care Assistant (CNA) or LPN provides quality patient care under the direction of a Registered Nurse. Works within the guidelines of established practice for the Patient Care Assistant at HMC. Supports the mission, philosophy, and objectives of Hunterdon Medical Center.

Qualifications

Required:
High school diploma or equivalent.

Required:
None
Preferred:
One year acute care nursing assistant experience.

Required:
For PCA: State Certified Nurse Aide (CNA) certification OR non-certified nursing assistant with acute care hospital experience required.
For LPN: NJ State LPN license.
For Both PCA and LPN: American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS) certification is required.

Crisis Prevention (CPI) training is required and must be renewed annually. If not certified upon hire, must obtain certification within 6 months of date of hire. CPI Course will be provided at Hunterdon.

Required:
Normal knowledge of basic patient care equipment, wheelchairs, and stretchers. Good interpersonal and communication skills.
