We are currently seeking an enthusiastic animal lover to be part of our current team as a Patient Care Assistant, working enthusiastically to help maintain a happy, efficient and effective working environment. Village Vet Queens Park is within walking distance of the Bakerloo line and train lines.

The practice is well equipped and we support a variety of patients making this practice a great place to start your veterinary career.

Our Patient Care Assistants undertake a variety of duties as directed by the Veterinary Surgeons and/or Registered Veterinary Nurses and duties or responsibilities may include:

Assist with reception and client care including answering the telephone, dealing with enquiries, booking procedures and taking payments

Maintaining Infection control
Preparing and maintaining patient accommodation
Assisting with patient handling and restraint
Monitoring, recording and providing supportive care to patients under the direction of the Veterinary Surgeon and Registered Veterinary Nurse
Assisting with diagnostic techniques to include preparation of sample equipment, processing samples and/or packaging for external laboratories
Maintenance of theatre to include preparation of the environment and equipment and cleaning, packaging and sterilisation of sterile supplies
Assist with the management of the pharmacy including unpacking of orders, stock rotation and environmental temperatures

Previous experience is advantageous, but training and support for the role will be provided

You will be expected to rotate on shifts Monday-Friday between 8-7pm and complete 1 in 2 Saturdays 8-4pm, a total of 42 hours per week.
