Job description
We are seeking a Pastoral Mentor to work effectively in the support of identified students to provide targeted, solution focused, task centred sessional work to improve student motivation, wellbeing and behaviour.
Your responsibilities will include liaising with the relevant members of staff to reinforce the role of the lecturer outside of the classroom, to ensure students’ needs are being met accordingly to their Learning Support Plan and Learning Programme.
The successful candidate will have experience of working with children and young people within an educational setting and excellent written/oral communication abilities to deliver mentoring sessions to students both on a one-to-one basis or within small groups.
Ideally you will have a good general education with excellent IT skills and experience of using Microsoft Office applications to be able to maintain student records accurately. You will also need to be able to work effectively as a team and have the commitment and enthusiasm of building futures and changing lives.
The salary for this post is up to £22,983 pro rata.
