Kendall Cars trade as minicab.com and have been transporting the people of Croydon and South London for over 50 years.
We have an ever expanding SENT department, and are looking for committed, enthusiastic Passenger Assistants to join our expanding team from the South London area. Please get in touch if you are looking for regular work with weekly pay and would like to become part of a friendly team
The applicant needs to be calm, friendly, and be able to work with child and young adults with Special Educational Needs. Excellent communication is a must as you need to be able to work well with the driver and have good overall rapport.
There is no travel to work as your driver will collect you en route.
Job role:
- Support and engage with passengers
- Assist passengers when embarking and disembarking the vehicle
- Monitoring and supervising the passengers whilst in transit and being responsible for their welfare whilst on board
- Communicate with passengers and clients in a patient, informative, caring manner
- Report late running and incidents in line with policy
- Ensure the vehicle allocated is secure at all times whilst in use
- Adherence to and promotion of Equality policy at all times
- Adherence to all company procedures and codes of conduct relating to the role.
- Promote all services operated by Kendall Cars in a positive manner
- Maintain good working relations with all members of staff
- Adhere to standards as per policy
It is essential that the candidates:
- Are available to work during key school hours of 07:30 – 09:30 and 14:00 – 16:00
- Have experience of working with children, or vulnerable adults
- Have an empathic and caring nature
- Have good verbal and written communication skills
- Are able to work as part of a team
- Can show initiative in resolving problems when required
- Are able to take instructions and learn quickly in a changing environment
- Are reliable, conscientious and have good time keeping
- Have the ability to work in a team environment as well as confidence to work with minimum supervision and using own initiative
- Are able to complete training as required
- Are willing to undertake and to satisfy and continue to satisfy a Disclosure and Barring Service check
- Willing to continually satisfy our Safeguarding policy and procedures
- Be physically fit
- Have an understanding for the care of people with disabilities and Special Educational Needs.
Desirable Knowledge, Skills & Qualities
- Hold a current PAT's certificate
- Hold a current First Aid qualification
- Hold a current Manual Handling qualification

All Passenger Assistants are required to wear a mask whilst on duty and to take twice weekly lateral flow tests.
