Working within the Fundraising Department, the Partnerships Team crafts and expertly stewards collaborations with a range of companies and brands, both in the UK and with a global profile, to generate significant levels of income, raise awareness of WDCs key programmes and advocate for positive action.
Key responsibilities and attributes for the Partnerships manager role
Develop and deliver The Partnerships manager, with support from the Director of Fundraising, is responsible for developing and implementing a strategy to deliver an agreed annual income target, across charitable and trading activities and facilitate valuable in-kind support for WDC.
In the role, you will:
Develop and deliver a regularly reviewed corporate fundraising strategy, including sponsorships, events, corporate volunteering and affiliates achieving the income target and other Key Performance Indicators.- Steer and oversee the strategy for challenge events, both WDC-led and independent.
- Follow trends and best practice in the sector, developing new products and innovating to ensure year-on-year growth in a challenging external environment, but one which offers many opportunities to align with WDCs work.
- Generate pro- and low-bono support for WDC, from companies including legal and professional services, design and content generation.
Steward The Partnerships manager is required to expertly research, develop, manage, and enhance relationships with new and existing partners across a diverse range of sectors personally managing the teams largest income generating accounts.
In the role, you will:
Carry out, and oversee, research into new potential partners and collaboration opportunities, including sponsorships, product-based partnerships, charity of the year opportunities, partner events, corporate foundations and ethos-driven collaborations to ensure a healthy pipeline of opportunities that balances risk.- Develop creative retention/stewardship plans for current partners to maintain and grow existing relationships.
- Help embed a new CRM system within the Partnerships team, and ensure that KPI and financial reporting and monitoring effectively informs decisions within the team, and SMT.
- Be a confident, capable, and effective advocate for WDC in meetings, events and conferences inspiring high-level buy in and commitment to our cause from a diverse range of stakeholders.
- Be where the buck stops supporting your team on difficult decisions, balancing priorities and workloads and due diligence.
Communicate and inspire The Partnerships manager will be an adept communicator, capable of thinking on their feet, delivering inspiring pitches with authority and securing buy in from colleagues across WDC, and external stakeholders.
In the role, you will:
Ensure a healthy, supportive, motivating culture within the Partnerships team.- Effectively collaborate with senior colleagues in Campaigns and Policy, Individual Giving, Philanthropy, Trusts and Grants, Supporter Relations, Finance and Comms to ensure seamless cross-departmental working and realise the maximum benefit from every opportunity for WDC as a whole.
- Expertly brief SMT and WDCs Trustees on potential opportunities/risks.
- Be able to nail a pitch, verbally or in written/designed form, and creatively think on your feet and cultivate these attributes within your team.
- Work closely with the team who manage strategic partnerships such as Deloitte and those that require specialist expertise such as the video games industry.
Other attributes The Partnerships manager will lead a varied and exciting area of fundraising, covering a diverse range of activities and opportunities which involves balancing the needs of WDC colleagues with external partners.

Outline Terms and Condition of Employment
Location
The role can be based in our Chippenham office, or home-based/hybrid with occasional travel to the office. Some national travel may be required, including to our Scottish Dolphin Centre in Spey Bay, as well as occasional international travel.
Salary
The salary for this role will be c. £36,000. All employees are paid monthly in arrears on the last working day of the month.
Pension
WDC UK employees will be automatically enrolled into our Royal London pension scheme.
Holidays
Holiday entitlement is 25 working days per yearplus bank holidays for full time staff. Entitlement increases by 2 days per year inthe third year of employment and increases by a further 3 days per year in thefifth year of employment.
Working Hours
The standard working week is 35 hours, Monday toFriday. WDC operates a flexitime scheme.

For how long does WDC keep data?
If your application for employment orvolunteering is unsuccessful, WDC will hold your data on file for one yearafter the end of the relevant recruitment process. At the end of that period (or once you withdrawyour consent), your data is deleted or destroyed.
