This opportunity sits within our Partner Matters team, a specialist team largely talent-focused with the primary objective to deliver a differentiated, integrated experience to all our partners, from the point they become partners in the firm, to the time they retire from the partnership. This role will play a key part in managing one pillar of the team’s core portfolio – Entry to Partnership.
In this role you will drive operational excellence and execution of the partner admissions approach, partnering closely with key HR and Business stakeholders, including members from the firm’s executive. Of strategic importance, partner admissions plays a critical role in delivering our NSE Ambition and key priorities/ambitions of the UK Executive.

You will be responsible for planning and managing the end to end internal Partner Admissions process, in the UK geography. This will include continuous enhancement of the existing approach, driving convergence across the Businesses as well as collaboration with North and South Europe (NSE).
Flexibility will be required in the role. As part of a small team, you can expect to work across the Partner Matter’s portfolio in peak times and/or where critical deadlines are approaching, getting involved in broader projects where additional capacity and/or expertise is needed.

Some key responsibilities include, but aren’t limited to:
- Operational management and delivery of the partner admissions process, from establishing the approach through to the delivery and completion of the Business Selection Process, Partnership Committee Review and Partner Candidate Development Programme.
- Reviewing, updating and refreshing all central partner admissions materials and communications to ensure they reflect our current approach.
- Actively scoping and embedding continuous enhancements to the admissions process and ensuring Businesses and all relevant teams are fully informed, supported and engaged.
- Identifying and implementing opportunities to improve the candidate experience, invest in their development and move us forward with our inclusion goals while streamlining processes and optimising the use of technology.
- Collaborating successfully with the range of other teams who contribute to the end-to-end delivery of this process, to drive the approach (including the Executive Office, People & Purpose, Partnership Committee, HR, Partner Finance, Partner Compliance, Partner Development, Partner Admin, ER & Ethics, and Communications).
- Contributing to the delivery of key Executive deliverables (both presentations and reports), ensuring they reflect and align with our Business and its ambitions.
- Integrating successfully into NSE for management of the NSE reporting requirements, sharing of best practice, and to ensure the UK approach aligns to the NSE common standard.
- Partnering with the Partner Hiring Lead to ensure consistency in the selection criteria and approach to partner selection, both internal and lateral.
- Actively supporting the development of the Partner Matters T1 Advisor (Entry to Partnership).
- Working collaboratively with the new partner transitions Manager to support the delivery, where required, of an enhanced new partner transition journey.
- Influencing others in the Partner Matters team (and beyond) as a role model and exemplar of effective leadership and teaming. Positively contribute to the team brand, culture and purpose.
- Taking on and leading other discrete projects and ad hoc priority areas as and when they emerge during the year, whether they relate directly to the stated pillar or not.

- Demonstrate appropriate commercial acumen and be able to connect that to the role, the agenda, the decisions we make and the relationships that are established.

Personal independence
