Job Title: Participation Officer

Reports to: Senior Participation Manager
Responsible for: Delivery and implementation of the participation programmes
Purpose: The Leeds United Foundation provides opportunities for the community across Yorkshire through running a range of programmes; Premier League Kicks, Premier League Primary Stars, Wildcats, Skill Centres and Soccer Schools. The Foundation aims to use the power of sport to educate, motivate and inspire the local Leeds community to live healthier, happier and more active lives.
Description
The Leeds United Foundation is seeking to appoint a passionate, self-motivated and fun individual to support the participation programmes across Yorkshire and help to provide children with opportunities to take part in football and a variety of other activities. The suitable candidate will be organised and have great communication skills. The suitable candidate will be a key networker with good knowledge of the local communities and local grassroots clubs/leagues.
About the Organisation
The Leeds United Foundation is a non-profit, sports charity that exists to deliver targeted, high quality programmes that have a real and measurable positive impact on the relationship between the club, its fans and the community.
Main areas of responsibility:
· To deliver the Skills Centre programmes including planning, delivering, and meeting participation targets
· Skill Centres Schedule Monday 5-7pm, Tuesday 5-6pm, Wednesday 6-8:30pm, Thursday 5-6pm, Friday 5-6pm
· To co-ordinate Skill Centres; locations, coaches, and participation targets
· To grow the Skill Centre programme, increasing participation and sessions
· Lead on 5–16-year-old recruitment for the participation programmes overall
· Support the delivery of Soccer Schools by leading camps and link with Skill Centre programmes
· To support the planning, delivering and meeting participation targets for the Soccer Schools
· To ensure health and safety guidance is adhered to
· To ensure all policies and procedures, in particular Safeguarding and Equality Diversity & Inclusion are implemented. · To support the delivery of the programme’s key performance indicators (KPIs)
· To communicate and liaise with other internal departments and external partners
· To be willing to undertake further training, education and continued professional development
· To always represent The Leeds United Foundation, in a professional manner regarding to dress, presentation, personal hygiene, attitude, conduct and professionalism.
Person Specification:
Essential:
- Experience in coaching football
- Knowledge of safeguarding in football
- Knowledge of Risk Assessments
- Knowledge of basic first aid in football
- Updated FA workshops
- 5 x GCSEs including Maths, English
- FA coaching Football level 2
- Excellent communication skills
- Can demonstrate the ability to work well in a team and individually
- Can demonstrate working with professionalism
- Dedicated, reliable and willing to go the ‘extra mile’ to see the job through. Hardworking, committed, personable, cheerful, discreet and confident
Desirable:
- Experience in coaching teams, inside schools and extra curriculum.
- Degree or equivalent higher-level qualification
- UEFA B
- Goal keeping qualification
- FA coaching disabled football
- Any other sporting qualification

Appointment to this role is subject to a satisfactory advanced DBS Check (with children’s barred list check) and appointment is dependent on clearance and obtaining two suitable references.
