Part Time, Term Time, Learning Support Assistant – Saffron Walden

Permanent, Part Time

Up to £22,361 per annum, pro rata / £11.59 per hour.

Location: Saffron Walden

Working Style: Fixed-base worker

Starting in September 2023 an exciting opportunity has arisen to join the Learning Support Team within ACL Essex. ACL are graded as ‘Good’ by Ofsted in 2018.

This position will be expected to cover the following days and hours:

Tuesday’s, Wednesday’s, and Thursday’s – 9.45am till 3.15pm – 4.5 paid hours per session with a 60-minute unpaid lunch break and is based at ECL Wellbeing Centre Saffron Walden - 39 Audley Road Saffron Walden Essex CB11 3HD.

Please note, hours will be variable according to curriculum needs (as and when / term time). The successful candidate may be required to work daytimes, evenings and/or Saturdays.

The salary will be £22,361 as a full time equivalent, pro rata for part time and term time and is equal to an hourly rate of £11.59 per hour. This role is being offered as a sessional contract where you are paid per session worked.

Role Specifics:

  • To support tutors in their delivery of academic and vocational courses.
  • Support learners with challenging behaviour in an educational environment.
  • Support learners with special educational needs and disabilities (general class and 1:1 support)
  • Provide pastoral support to learners within an educational setting.
  • To support adult learners with a wide range of difficulties and disability in classes across all curriculum areas.

Requirements:

  • English and Maths qualifications at NQF level 2/GCSE equivalent.
  • Experience of a support role with Adults/Children within an educational setting.
  • Be enthusiastic, proactive, and committed to high standards of achievement and behaviour. Have a flexible and supportive approach to changing demands. Be able to work effectively as part of a team.
