About The Role

Have you thought about working within prison healthcare?

We are looking for a qualified Pharmacist who will be responsible for providing a specialist clinical pharmacy service to the prison, ensuring high quality, safe, effective, legal and accurate use of medicines. You will also have key responsibility of supporting and supervising the pharmacy technicians also working at HMP Eastwood Park.

The main focus of the work will be to provide a dispensary and wing based clinical pharmacy service and work with the Pharmacist on providing medicines management support to a number of different wings. The ability to work in a highly stressful and pressurised environment is key.

HMP Eastwood Park is a women's closed prison, located in the village of Falfield in South Gloucestershire with a maximum of 442 adult women. HMP Eastwood Park is based 17 miles north of Bristol, 20 miles south of Gloucester, 30 miles west from Cirencester and 30 miles east from Newport in South Wales with good transport links via the M5 and the A38 and ample free staff parking.
This role is working 18.7 hours, candidate will need to be flexible to cover the sites requirements , to be discussed in the interview.

About You

You will work in a truly integrated team with the chance to see individual care through from start to finish. As we are committed to CPD for our nursing staff, we also offer regional and national development opportunities as well as access to our bespoke Learning Management system.

You will be a qualified Registered Pharmacist- BSc or Master’s Degree in Pharmacy, holding registration with the General Pharmaceutical Council. You will have a real passion for developing your Pharmaceutical skills and those of your team. You’ll have a flexible approach to working within a team that encourages new ideas.

Experience of working in a secure environment would be beneficial but not essential.

You’ll receive an annual salary of up to £51,500 pro rata and dependent on experience.
