Part-Time Payroll Specialist

Our client is an is an award-winning company with a range of manufacturing and technology-based divisions and they are looking for a Payroll Specialist who will be responsible all aspects of the UK payroll for about 120 staff for on a part-time basis – it will ideally be working 25 hours over 5 days. The salary offered is £38,000 - £42,000 pro rata.

Responsibilities:

· Prepare an in-house, monthly ADP payroll

· Process overtime, production bonus and sales commission payments;

· Add new starters, terminate leavers and make salary adjustments;

· Calculate statutory payments, apply them correctly and process the relevant claims for SMP, SAP, SPP, SSP etc.

· Administer, apply correctly on payroll and reconcile payments for staff benefits i.e. private medical insurance, death in service, cycle to work scheme and childcare voucher scheme;

· Administer the staff pension by processing on payroll and reconciling payments, as well as reporting new starters, non-eligibility, opt-outs and auto enrolment;

· Provide and reconcile all monthly system and Excel payroll reporting, to BACS, HRMC and employees;

· Prepare and post the monthly payroll into the nominal ledger and reconcile the net pay control account;

· Reconcile staff purchases, staff advances and balance sheet;

· Administer and reconcile company credit cards and petty cash;

· Perform the payroll year end, P60’s and P11d’s for employees and check submission to HMRC;

· Assist staff and management with any payroll, pension, holiday, tax queries etc.

· Assist Senior Management with scenario planning and prepare information and financial reports for budgets, salary reviews and bonus purposes as required;

· Assist Senior Management with the payroll element of the annual R&D relief claims and grants;

Requirements:

· CIPP or equivalent qualification is desirable.

· Strong in-house payroll experience, with a minimum 2 years in a stand-alone payroll position is required;

· Experience of any mainstream systems: ERP, payroll, holiday and time & attendance management software. Basic accounting qualification would be desirable e.g. AAT, but is not essential.

· Experience in double entry bookkeeping is required;

· Good Excel skills, including advanced formulas and data manipulation;

· Ability to keep accurate financial records and to prepare routine financial reports;

· Sound knowledge of current payroll and pension legislation;
